Jungle Fire 7" Record Release Party @ Funky Sole Saturday July 14th

JUNGLE FIRE brought the HEAT with their heavy afro/latin/funk infused breakbeat cuts at their debut 7" release party. Comprising the 9 member band, Alberto Lopez (Timbales), Tonatiuh Hernandez-Shekere (Percussion), Miguel Ramirez (Congas,Bongos), Steve Haney (Congas,Bongos,Bata), Sam Halterman (Drums), Judson McDaniel (Guitar), Joey Reina (Bass), Sean Billings (Trumpet), Sam Robles (Baritone Sax,Flute), Otto Granillo (Trombone) all brought unique talents to the groove, with heavily syncopated polyrhythmic percussion, funky and straight Boom-Bap drums, pschyed-out fuzz guitar and great horn arrangements. For the most part, there was no lead, mainly the percussion being the driving force behind the tune, with arrangements that perfectly set up the breaks.

There was no better place for this release party in Miles the Music Man & Clifton's (DJ Soft Touch) weekly party Funky Sole. Funky Sole is one of the longest running weekly dance parties in LA (since 2001 and 3 different locations), and specializes in 60's-70's Funk & Sole burners. Special guests have included the who's who of of Funk diggers. I'm assuming in the not to distant future, this Jungle Fire 7" release will be in the majority of these DJ's crates! The original pressing was limited to 500 copies, so try to cop yours before it's gone.
